The BASIC DISHCLOTH

A most basic dishcloth - knit from corner to corner with yarnover eyelet edge:

The basic dishcloth is knit in garter stitch (knit every row).  Cast on 4 stitches.  Knit 2, yarn over, knit to end of row.  Repeat this row until dishcloth is desired size (corner to corner).  Then, knit 1, knit 2 together, yarn over, knit 2 together, knit to end of row.  Repeat this decrease row until 4 stitches remain.  Bind off and weave in ends.

We recommend 1 skein of Plymouth Fantasy Naturale or Crystal Palace Cotton Chenille and a US #8 or #9 needle.  The Cotton Chenille makes a 'fancy' dishcloth or facecloth suitable for gifting!

Errata - Skagit Tulip Bootie Pattern

Row 3: sl 1, k1, m1, k to 2 sts before end of row, m1, k2

Row 4: sl 1, p across

Row 5: 3-6 mo size: sl 1, k across

Row 5: 9-12 mo size: sl 1, k1, m1, k 11, m1, k2

Petal #4 (right side) Row 1 should read:

Row 1: Pick up and knit 5(6) sts at the base of petal 2 and 6(7) sts at the base of petal 1.  Continue as for petal 3.

Sorry for any confusion, we have this corrected on the most recent printing.  Please check your pattern to assure you have the correction.
